First Listen : A track from "Grace Bay" by Tommy McCarthy & Louise Costello

This is a first listen to the new album by Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costello called Grace Bay.  It was released towards the end of last year and we hope to do a more formal review of it later.  For now enjoy The Corner House which "they learned from the playing of Louise's father Denny, a box player from Mirah in Turloughmore, Co. Galway.  Louise was heavily influenced by his steady rhythmic style.  She remembers her father and Jim O' Brien playing music with great affection" according to the album notes.

Tommy was born and raised in London and was very influenced by west Clare music.  Louise learned her music from her father and Jim O' Brien as referenced above as well as Joe Morris.  Both artists own and run Boston's most famous Pub and Restaurant, The Burren where they regularly host top traditional artists in their Backroom series of concerts.
