First Listen : East Lancashire band "Drop The Floor" debut release

East Lancashire band Drop The Floor have released their debut album called Raise The Roof.  They got together in 2012 having met on the busy session circuit in England's North West. "In late 2011, the four friends took a trip to Co. Clare as part of a larger collective of friends and musicians under the travelling name “Banna Gan Ainm” (Band With No Name). An annual excuse for four days of music and merriment on the West Coast of Ireland, it was during this trip that the seeds were sown for putting a band together. Having narrowly avoided an early morning loss of one of the members to the Atlantic Ocean and with a characteristically laid back formation period, following a number of name changes, the band would eventually become Drop The Floor."  The band are Richard Moss - guitar and vocals, Martin Baptie - fiddle, Steven Johnston - Uilleann Pipes and Dan Burke - tenor banjo. The album is a mixture of traditional jigs and reels with 4 songs included.  For more information visit
