First Listen : The Fahertys / Traditional Irish Music

The Faherty’s describe themselves as “ a young, vibrant and dynamic family band steeped in tradition.” Some members are playing since the age of 3 and they are multi-instrumental All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil and Feis Ceoil Champions. In a recent discussion with Seán he said that “we wanted to create an album that you can’t help but want to dance to, hence the amount of jigs and reels. When it came to recording in the studio, we totally forgot where we were and didn’t let the microphones take from our usual lively performance. Because we’ve been playing together so frequently over the years as a family naturally we expect high standards from each other.”

“We would describe our music as energetic and lively, always keeping the arrangements interesting with an upbeat performance. We take our inspiration from brilliant musicians such as Mike McGoldrick, Goitse, Beoga and Flook.”
