First track off Aodán Coyne's solo album " If We Only Knew"

Here is the first track released by Aodán Coyne from his new solo album called "If we only knew". Aodán is a member of Socks in the Frying Pan who's debut album we reviewed in 2012.

On this track he is accompanied by Niall Preston on Bodhrán and John Bridge on Bass. He hopes to launch it at the Ennis Trad Festival in November and he has also provided us with some refreshing words regarding the recording process stating that "The album was a long time in the making".

He admits that he is fairly picky when it comes to getting certain songs to sound the way he wants. This took some effort and his path from initial concept to album may provide inspiration to others.  "I tried getting the tracks down in a studio two years ago and I just spent too long in there and wasted money. I then realized that I would need to invest in my own recording gear which would enable me to spend as much time on each track as I thought was required. So for the last 6 months I have had a room in my apartment covered in duvets. It was tricky trying to record in between my neighbor's dog barking and kids playing outside, but I somehow got it completed and I'm very happy with the result".

He then had it mixed in Red Door Studios in Limerick and Mastered in Wav Mastering. The songs on the album "present themes which I connected with on some level. I felt that each was written with conviction and honesty by the composers" he states in the sleeve notes. "I've been thinking about what events occurred to inspire and motivate the writer to put pen to paper and their thoughts and feelings to music. There is a whole life behind the words, If we only knew."
