Fleadh TV - Broadcasting 13th - 16th August

Last year FleadhTV enjoyed a strong share of viewership and reached over 850,000 people in the course of the three nights. It also ranked in the end of year Top 10 TG4 programmes of 2014. Building on this success, TG4 have extended the show to a four night run and to three hours of live TV each night. Traditional music is back in the forefront of Irish television.

Fleadh Cheoil is the largest single festival of Irish music in the world and has attendances of 400,000 annually. With lively street sessions, competitions and seisiúns in venues across Sligo, the Fleadh is the place to be every August and FleadhTV will bring the heart of this wonderful event to those who can’t be there.

The FleadhTV main stage, with presenter Máire Treasa at the helm, will be based at great Sligo venue 5th on Teeling. New for 2015 will be the addition of a second stage based at the Riverside Hotel for a “music at the crossroads” feel. Cathy Jordan will be the mainstay of this stage where there is sure to be a lot of craic agus ceol. Also new this year, Lynette Fay will be at the heart of the Fleadh on the streets with a roving crew capturing all those very special moments as they happen.

Artists confirmed to appear over the course of the four programmes include:
Frankie Gavin & De Dannan, Ryan Sheridan, Donal Lunny, Moxie, A Stor Mo Chroí, Frances Black with Aoife and Eoghan Scott, Dervish, Flook and Danú. With lots more acts yet to be announced it’s set to be the music show of the summer!
