Traditional Irish Music
On the 28th of March 2016 RTÉ 1 Television will broadcast CENTENARY live from the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin at 9.30pm. This landmark programme will be the culmination of a series of programmes and events produced by RTÉ across Easter Week. The show will commemorate 1916 and celebrate the achievements of the Ireland we have become with dance music and song.
RTE are currently in the process of inviting some of Ireland’s most celebrated Musicians, Actors and Writers to help tell the story of CENTENARY along with the RTE Concert Orchestra. Some of the acts announced include the High Kings, Imelda May and Gavin James and the show will be a mixture of dance, music and song, celebrating the story of Ireland right from its mythological birth right up to the present day. There are many more acts, yet to be announced, including some top traditional artists.
