From the Courthouse to the Gaol - Saturday 22nd November

Really looking forward to a couple of gigs this weekend, which will take us (some might say appropriately enough) from the Court House in Clones to the Old Gaol in Dundalk. The two performances, featuring Dónal McCague and myself, will focus on the recently released CD - 'Our Dear Dark Mountain with the Sky Over it'.

The first performance, at 3pm on Saturday 22nd November is part of an exciting new series of concerts being staged in Clones, Co. Monaghan -  'The Clones Concert Series'. Organised by Carol-Anne McKenna, the series is a welcomed addition to the musical landscape of the county and is very worthy of support. Our performance, which is just one of a weekend programme, takes place at 3pm on Saturday.

Following on from our Court House appearance will be a performance in Dundalk Gaol in the beautifully restored Oriel Centre at 8pm on Saturday 22nd November. The event marks the launch of the album in the shadow of DKIT, the institute where the main research for the project was undertaken. It will be officially launched by Dr Dáithí Kearney from the Section of Music at DKIT. The evening will also feature special guest appearances by another member of the Section of Music, Dr Helen Lawlor and current DKIT music student Damhnait McKenna.
