Sam says on his maintenance page:

"The tuning slide and the traditional waxed thread joints should be coated with joint grease.
The grease is made by melting one part of beeswax to two parts of Vaseline."

So yesterday i went shopping for beeswax and a tin of vaseline, proceeded to melt one teaspoon of beeswax and two teaspoons of vaseline, stirred good and poured the mix in a old breathmint tin :)

Felt like a heroin junkie with my spoon over a lit candle but it turned out fine!

Just felt like sharing with fellow thread-wound tenon instrument owners out there.
