Inspiration : Enda Seery on the music that has inspired him

Enda Seery has this year released his second whistle album called Peace of the Countryside and has had a busy summer with launches, gigs and concerts.  Its a follow up to his debut the Winding Clock from a few years ago and is a welcome addition to the years new releases.

His playing  is strong, expressive and contains the self assured confidence of a musician on the rise.  Some small additional ornamental techniques have been added to his playing style in a continuing development of his music. A lot of this he picked up on the Masters course in Traditional Irish Music Performance in Limerick University last year where he found inspiration from some seasoned professionals like Kevin Crawford and Mary Bergin.

As part of this series of articles on inspiration we are asking musicians to tell us about the music that inspires them, either from the old masters of the tradition or from the present day with other genres of music also included. We are using Spotify so you need to join ( its free ) to listen to these sounds. These playlists will be regularly updated.
