Irish Music Awards - Support Tradconnect members up for awards

With the 2012 Irish Music Awards around the corner we should look to supporting our Tradconnect members who are up for awards as there are quite a few of them this year. We have already highlighted that Lilt are up for two awards, Top Duo in a Pub, Festival, Concert as well as Best New Irish CD for their album Onward which we reviewed earlier in the year.

Joanie Madden is also in two categories.  Firstly for a Lifetime Achievement Award as well as Top Group.  Kevin Crawford of Lúnasa is also in for the Top Group award. Rose Baldino and her group Burning Bridget Cleary are up for the award of Best New Irish Artists as is flute player Robert Harvey and his group Ciorras. Both Tola Custy of Guidewires and Éamonn de Barra of Slide are up for the Top Traditional Group in a Pub, Festival, Concert.  In the instrument category we have three members in for awards.  Tríona Marshall for Top Harpist and Paddy O' Brien and David Munnelly go head to head for the Top Button Accordion player award.

We will re post this article between now and the end of voting so head on over to the Irish Music Association website and cast your vote.
