Longford and Westmeath gearing up for Patsy Farrell festival

Longford and Westmeath are in for a real treat this year with the commencement of a new festival that celebrates the life of Patsy Farrell. It takes place on 1st to 8th August. Singer & songwriter, Patsy will always be remembered for his talent, passion and love for Irish music, song and dance. In his memory and name the organisers have put together eight nights of Traditional Irish music, song and dance throughout the Longford & Westmeath area to keep alive and regenerate Trad music in that region.

It provides a great opportunity for people to get out and about and enjoy some good music. There will be lots of pub sessions including The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule, Camlin Lounge in Clondra, Mitchels Bar in Legan and lots more. Foster and Allen will launch the Patsy Farrell festival at 9pm Wednesday August 1st in the Rustic Inn Abbeyshrule followed by an open session.  So check it out and support this new festival.
