You ain't heard "Follow Me Up To Carlow" like this before.

We covered Mike Considine and his EP Permanent Resonance last year.  He is based in Hollywood, with roots in The Burren region of Co.Clare.  Mike is a self-taught musician who plays by ear and has an intuitive knowledge of melody, harmony, rhythm and syncopation. His specialty is the Irish bouzouki and tenor guitar. He has appeared in concerts and tours with some of Ireland's finest musicians including John Carty, Cormac Breatnach, Tommy Peoples, Dermot Byrne, Brian McGrath, Alan Kelly, Sean Smyth, Brendan Larrissey, John Faulkner and Mary Shannon.

He spent 13 years in New Zealand where he was an integral member of the groups Rua, Claddagh and The Wylde Takafoleys. He recorded numerous projects with many of New Zealand’s finest musicians including cutting edge producer, Jody Lloyd (Trillion). Together they produced “Bazuki Joe” – an Irish / Pacifica hybrid sound and Mike won two New Zealand music awards for his work with Claddagh and flautist, Brendyn Montgomery.

This is a great funky/rap version of Follow Me Up to Carlow that is quite clever in its crossover construction, retaining just enough of the traditional instruments in the background.
