I think it's fair to say that the Mandolin wouldn't exactly be the most popular of session instruments, due mainly to the fact that it can be hard to hear it, in the middle of a large session. However, it was my first stringed instrument & I love playing it in quieter sessions, so believe it deserves more attention than it often gets.

A while back I sold my old Mandolin & Octave Mandolin & bought myself, what I reckon is the ultimate Mandolin for playing Traditional Music ... a Stephan Sobell!

Enjoying playing it so much, I quickly decided to post a number of video clips of tunes, for a learners group on the Mandolin Cafe Forum. On many of them, I play the tune through once, slowly, then speed it up a little the 2nd time through, which I hope makes it a little easier for those who don't know the tune very well.

Anyway, I thought I might as well post them here too, just in case anyone here might be interested in learning the tunes, or simply discussing them.

Cheers

Dick
