It is true to say that the Tenor Guitar is not the first instrument that comes to mind, when anyone starts thinking of Irish Music. However, anyone who has ever heard great musicians like John Carty or Angelina Carberry playing Reels & Jigs on a Tenor Guitar, will quickly realise just how well Irish Music can sound on these great wee instruments.

Anyone who plays Tenor Banjo, or even Fiddle or Mandolin will already have all the tunes in their left hands, to be able to make a fair stab at playing a Tenor Guitar. When it comes to loud sessions, I confess they are not ideal, but you find a quiet session & the lovely voice of the Tenor Guitar will shine through.

I only bought my custom made Tenor from Fletcher Tenortone Guitars fairly recently, so I haven't gotten around to posting too many videos yet, but perhaps this Blog will encourage me to post more. Anyway I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers,

Dick
