Notes From The Road : Kíla - End of Summer News

I know, I know, I shouldn't be talking about the end of summer like this but there was a chill in the air when we were on stage in The Secret Village Festival in Ballaghaderreen last weekend. Despite the chill it was a beautiful festival - an otherwordly affair with the festival site tucked in between old scrub and trees and the people all oozing good will. The festival won't remain a secret for very long!!

The day before we played in the Alps in Austria at the Sprudel, Sprudel and Musik festival. Wow! What a spectacular setting - James bond land!! And we played two great numbers with the wonderful Lisa Hannigan.

The newsletter is coming to you quite soon after the last missive because (as I mentioned then) our web iste is being re-created at the moment following the hacking.

The last gig of the summer is happening in Dublin in Whelans. Tickets can be bought at this link. Mathew Devereaux and Shane the madolin player are going to play support on the night doing an acoustic set of The Pale's music! This is a real treat with an-close-and-intimate look and listen to their great songs like Butterfly ,  with one of the great lyrics from any Irish song - I am the Butterfly, I shed my father's clothes.

So see you all there to give a big send off to the summer - and what a summer it has been.

Tóg Bog

Phrase of the week!!

Lán le grá! - lawn leh graw - Full of love!

Last summer date on in Whelans 21st August
