Traditional Irish Music
We had the good fortune to play at some of the great festivals on the circuit this summer including our very own Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Ennis. Tremendous support for what I deemed a kind of homecoming gig given my 25 years living in this incredible town.
A massive thank you to all of our friends and amazing musicians that joined us over the course of the Fleadh week. Mairtin O’Connor, Seamie O’Dowd, Cathal Hayden, Tola Custy, Colin Farrell, Patrick Doocey, David Doocey, Cillian King, Ralph McTell, Karan Casey, such a privilege to make music with all of these incredible people.
We had an amazing time also at the Wheatland Festival in Michigan. This is definitely one that you should mark into your diary for future years. Beautiful setting, top class stages and sound systems, amazing vibe and simply the best programming of artists I’ve experienced in the US.
We’ve also been busy with the new album, it’s going to be such a new departure for us and we’re super excited for 2018 as we’ll launch it officially at Celtic Connections in January.
It’s our 20 year celebratory CD and Lúnasa’s first release featuring both songs and tunes. Tim O’Brien, Natalie Merchant, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Daoiri Farrell, Eric Bibb and the extended Lúnasa team with Colin and Patrick contributing in a major way too.
Many of our shows throughout the early part of 2018 will feature one or more of these amazing singers and musicians so bring it on!
Before all that kicks in we have one last hoorah for 2017 left in us.

This is gonna be non stop fun and celebration from December 1st right up to Santa coming down the chimney folks!
