Traditional Irish Music
This Thursday we will have an Official Launch of a new album by Peadar Ó Riada and Seán Ó Sé called Through Banks of Mist. Peadar and Seán have been lifelong friends. In 1962 Sean was introduced to Seán Ó Riada who was well known at the time because of his film score for the powerful 1916 documentary Mise Éire. Shortly thereafter he recorded A Poc ar Buile, written by Dónall Ó Mulláin. He continued to sing for Seán up until his untimely death in 1971. These days Seán works with Peadar who he describes as a superb accompanist. He says that "his style allows the singer complete freedom to perform the song as he wishes"
We will have a track from the album on Thursday. In the meantime visit www.peadaroriada.ie
