Traditional Irish Music
Its great to finally have the general look of the album starting to come through into a tangible form due to the great work and talents of two of the Teada lads, Damien Stenson on photography and Sean Mc Elwain on design.
I've had the pleasure of knowing and playing on tour with Damien in the US as a part time substitute member of Teada actually deputising for Sean Mc Elwain!!
Sean was the person who gave me my first accompaniment instrument - a Fylde bouzouki which incidentally was his 1st accompaniment instrument too I think!
Its was also Sean who was one of my greater influences when I got that Fylde, calling around to his house over the road in North Monaghan trying to steal all those chords he had put time into finding while playing all those gigs he was doing in Galway.
We would sit around in his house and he would introduce me to a wealth of music in CD form that I had never heard before and showing me how it would eventually be possible to perform something similar myself!
It's possibly only fitting then that, due to Sean's generous nature, I used his beautiful Crump bouzouki for my entire recording - a full circle of events in a manner of speaking!
Enough ramblings for now,
Back to album design.
