I have written lyrics to Brian MacNeill's beautiful aire "Peace and Plenty". I tried to secure permission to use this music (from his website) but have not received any reply. I know with some of the older trad songs different lyrics were used for the same music ("Wait a minute,....isn't that the music for Foggy Dew"??? or,..."Isn't that the music for The Lakes of Pontchartrain???"). Although this may be different, I would still like to be able to perform and record my "lyrical interpretation" of this beautiful song. Can anyone advise me on how to legally secure permission from an artist to do this??? Until then, I can only play this song for myself (out of respect for Brian, and not wanting any legal battles for "use without permission"). Thanks. I'm anxious to hear any replies to this request. Danny
