Seeing new talent coming through is something that TradConnect takes a great interest in. Across the country we have hundreds of musicians taking their art to new places. In Ríl Óg we have a very young group, aptly named, who have undertaken to record and release their first album, and what a great affair it is.Ríl Óg have been playing together for over two years. The six members in the group range in age from 11 to 16 years: Emmett Lynch (bodhran), Maria Matthews (flute, whistle and vocals), Cillian Hourican (fiddle), Liam Doherty (banjo, bouzouki and guitar), Hannah McEntee (button accordion) and Laura Doherty (fiddle). They have numerous All-Ireland titles and, most recently, won the under-18 Anglo-Celt busking competition at Fleadh 2010 in Cavan in August. They have also had the honour of playing support to Dervish and Rig The Jig – “fantastic moments” for them.

Off Da Wall features 14 tracks of fabulous tunes and songs. A fantastic line-up of guests are lined up to support Ríl Óg at its launch: Shaskeen members Tom Cussen and Eamon Cotter, as well as Rig The Jig members Paul Gurney and Noel Carberry, Eamon Maguire, Noel Sweeney, Fionnula Maxwell to name a few. Buy
