Ruaile Buaile go viral with their version of Maniac 2000

In the few short years since they formed Ruaile Buaile, Niall Kelly, Arthur Stones, Jack Godley and Shane Lynam, have gone from being considered a highly thought-of young local act, to a act with international potential.  We launched their debut album here on Tradconnect in January and you can read about it here.

We wrote that, “Commotion, signalled a major transitional point on the band's career map, as they changed from being just a group whose gig everyone wanted to be at, to being that group who everyone wanted to be able to hear whenever they wanted to! 'Commotion' made that happen.”

This week they released their version of Maniac 2000. Their press release says that: “By going back in time to reboot this former chart-topper, Ruaile Buaile are at once demonstrating a self-confidence they know they have the ability to back up, while also laying down a marker for the future. While they may have begun life as a trad band, they set their own limits. And the truth is, they've always played like a band who saw no limits to what they could do anyway. So if they want to infuse a famous dance hit with the gritty edge of their own Celtic rock and trad roots, then so be it, they will. And they have.”

With over 100,000 views they have gone viral. Check it out and see what you think.

If you want to hear more, the album is now available to purchase on or download from iTunes
