Traditional Irish Music
Sixteen traditional musicians will take to the stage in the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork on 2nd February at 7 pm to compete in the final for the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal. The event will be broadcast live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, and Facebook.
This year’s competition focuses on accordion, concertina and mouth organ, with the finalists coming from 11 counties in Ireland with both Manchester and New Jersey also represented.
This year’s competition will be judged by master musicians Charlie Harris, Mick Mulcahy and Noel Hill. The winner of the competition will receive the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal and €2,000.
