The Arts Offices of Cork and Kerry county council's in partnership with local organisations have launched an initiative aimed to support, celebrate and preserve the musical heritage of Sliabh Luachra. Working with local fesitvals and heritage centres we will programme concerts, sessions and talks. An education will be launched later in the summer which will provide opportnities for promissing young musicians to avail of top class tuition.

The Sliabh Luachra Music Trail was officially launched by Minister Deenihan on the 15th of March 2014 in Ballydesmond, Co. Cork. Among the guests on the night were The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Noel O'Connor; The TG4 Young Musician of the year, Bryan O'Leary (below) and the Director of the Irish Traditional Music Archive, Mr. Nicholas Carolan.
