Supporting the new Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh Kickstarter campaign

Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for her new solo album. Here is her Kickstarter message. "I am making a new solo album, and I would be delighted if you would help me make it happen. My last solo album was recorded in 2011, just after the birth of my first daughter Sadhbh. Since then I've had another baby, moved home to Kerry, stopped touring with the band Danú after 13 years, and completely immersed myself in the community and culture of West Kerry.

Now that I am spending the majority of my time in Ireland, I've had the opportunity to forge some new bonds with amazing musicians, and to reconnect with old musical friends. Creatively, a lot has happened, I've started composing, collaborating, and performing in a solo capacity. I feel I'm in a really great place as an artist, and I am excited to make an album that reflects this.

After my recent fun playing with electronica as part of Aeons, I would love to make an album that is representative of my singing and playing in the Irish music genre. It would be an album mostly of song, but also with some tunes on the flute. I want to record it here in West Kerry in my friend Donogh Hennessy's studio, and I would love to be joined on it by my musical friends that I am lucky enough to play with these days. The plan is to keep it simple enough, letting the voice and flute be heard, ideally I'd love to make a video as well.

Ba bhreá liom dá gcabhródh sibh liom an tionscamh nua seo a thabhairt chun críche, míle buíochas as ucht bhur gcuid tachaíochta agus as ucht bhur gcuid spreagadh. Thank you for your support!"
