The ballad group/irish folk music greatest era 1970/80

O'Donoghues Pub Merrion Row, Dublin City home of the Dubliners was the greatest era in Irish folk/trad 1970/80. Seamus Ennis the legendary uillean piper Seosam o Heanai Seannos singer performed in the backroom for tourists.  Front bar had Eddie Clarke Mouth organ Joe Ryan fiddle Oireactas Champions.  Paddy O'Donoghue former owner made sure that the tradition continued with trad music and ballad groups/Irish folk music.

The Irish tourist board have got coaches going to this pub seven days a week to see where it all started photos of the Dubliners Finbar and Eddie Furey the Johnson's the Grehan sisters Joe Burke.sadly Irish folk/trad has changed over the last twenty years.
