Traditional Irish Music
This is a track off a new album by Ennis based The Jaskane Café Trio. We don't get a lot of groups that specialise in what could be called 'café culture' music, especially in Ennis. The track included below is a composition recorded by Moving Hearts many years ago and is probably the most traditional of the tracks on the album.
The trio have included quite an eclectic mix of music. Apart from this track the rest of the music is a bit off the trad map, but is nonetheless engaging and offers something a little different. They play a mixture of Irish, Breton, Finnish and Russian music, as well as pieces from Europe and beyond.
They state in the album notes that they are 'Bringing a unique combination of instruments to an eclectic selection of music from around the world. Jaskane Cafe Trio evokes the sounds of international café culture. The trio feature Etain McCooey (Oboe/Vocals), Karen Kelly (Violin) and Jason Noone (guitar).
