Traditional Irish Music
We have become regular readers of Daniel Neely's music column in The Irish Echo and it is great to have him here on Tradconnect as well. Apart from being a writer on Irish music he is also a banjo player and must get the award for artist with the longest name for an album. If you don't believe us check out his album Since Maggie Dooley Learned The Hooley Hooley which he recorded with The Washington Square Harp and Shamrock Orchestra. He probably has the longest name for a band as well come to think about it. If you are located in an area where you can buy The Irish Echo then check out his weekly column which is always a delight to read or failing that visit his website danieltneely.com
This leads us on to a band called The Murphy Beds that he recently did an article on and we like Daniel think they are great. The band consists of Eamon O’Leary on Vocals, Bouzouki, Guitar and Jefferson Hamer and Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin. Sometimes you need to listen to something and decide for yourself rather than have us raving on about it. This you can do because they have their debut album, also called The Murphy Beds on their website where you can listen to it all. If you like what you hear then download it and support the artists. It is is a definite repeat play album. Looking forward to maybe having Eamon and Jefferson on here to load up a few tracks.
