Traditional Irish Music
Dublin and New York unite on a new box and fiddle album called 'Mind will Never Be Easy', by Luke Deaton and Jayne Pomplas. The recording also features Brian Mooney on Bouzouki and Jack Talty on piano. It was recorded by Jack Talty in his studio in Lissycasey, Co. Clare.
Luke is a native Dubliner who grew up in Windy Arbour. He studied music in the Dublin Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 2010 with 1st class honours and was awarded the Michael McNamara Gold Medal for his graduating performance. He has been playing full time for several years, both at home and abroad, and was recently featured on an album of new music by Brian Byrne with the RTE Concert Orchestra.
Jayne Pomplas started taking classical violin lessons when she was three years old, and quickly started learning Traditional Irish music off of records her parents had around the house. She studied fiddle with legendary fiddlers Brian Conway and Tony DeMarco, two icons of the New York Sligo fiddle tradition. Jayne recorded a highly acclaimed solo album with Alan Murray on guitar and bouzouki which was released in February 2015. Other notable guests on the album include Tony DeMarco, Cillian Vallely, Isaac Alderson and Anna Colliton.
