Traditional Irish Music
This year we are going to run our album of the year poll once again. Last year’s was such a success that we are going to make this an annual event. Our winner last year, in case you have being living on another planet was Caitlín Nic Gabhann and her debut called Caitlín. For 2013 we were trying to get a sponsor on board to provide a prize for the winning artist but in truth probably left it too late in the year to start. As a campaign it generates thousands of views so if you feel it may suit your organisation get in touch with us. Irrespective of that we strongly promote the winning album throughout the year and it will feature on our home page for the whole of 2014.
As we enter the last quarter of the year we have had some great albums already. Check our album review section. If you have friends or contacts that have an album out this year and have not submitted it yet they give them a gentle reminder. We will be shortlisting the list of albums shortly for inclusion in our final poll and will only be considering albums submitted to us by members of Tradconnect. This poll is the only poll that finds the true people’s choice when it comes to the best album. We use a panel of 15 people that are involved in and knowledgeable of traditional music and are not connected in any way with the artists. They simple pick the albums that appeal to them the most. We combine their vote with a member vote taken by members of Tradconnect as well. You will need to be a member to vote.
So once again if you know of albums that should be submitted by friends or colleagues then let them know about this poll. Here are our contact details.
PLEASE NOTE THAT VOTING HAS CLOSED
