Traditional Irish Music
Over the coming weeks we will have a trio of great albums released on Tradconnect. All will be added to our Download Centre, and all will be free for broadcasters to download.
We have already featured exclusive premieres of singles from the albums by Nuala Kennedy and Aoife Scott. Both albums will be launched as part of music festivals. Nuala will be releasing her new record 'Behave the Bravest' with her UK band plus guest Eamon O'Leary, on 28th January at Celtic Connections International Festival in Glasgow. Tickets.
Aoife Scott will release "Carry The Day" on January 31st as part of Temple Bar TradFest, with the concert taking place at the Hugh Lane Gallery at 3pm. Tickets.
We will also launch the outstanding "Crossroads of Art and Design, 1690-1840 : The Music". It is a companion CD for the an exhibition of the same name that took place at the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015. “It was the first major exhibition to showcase the decorative and fine arts of 18th century Ireland. The creation of the CD of Irish music for the exhibition is described by Marty Fahey as a “modern-day crossroads experience. A diverse, inspired, and dedicated group of benefactors, graphic designers, and publishing professionals, along with a host of well-wishers, has come together for a noble purpose: to illuminate and celebrate the musical influences at work in Ireland between 1690 and 1840” Featuring Liz Carroll, Liz Knowles, Catriona McKay, Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill and many more, it will be a much played recording by the broadcasters that are participating in the Download Centre.
