Video trailer for 'The Birds Never Cease' by Liam Merriman & Eoin O'Meachair

This is a video trailer for the new album by Liam Merriman & Eoin O’Meachair called The Birds Never Cease.  We will have a Worldwide Album Launch next week for the album, when it will be added to our Download Centre and will be available to over 60 broadcasters worldwide.

On the making of the album Liam and Eoin said : “We decided to focus on songs and song melodies and create an album that blends both new and older folk material. There has always been a great connection between Irish audiences and the art of song as portrayed by many of our singers and songwriters including Christy Moore, Maura O'Connell, and the late Liam Clancy and Christie Hennessy. One of the central aims of the project was to build on this connection by adding our own work to the canon of Irish folk songs.

In terms of musical arrangements we are proud to take a lead from one of the many approaches pioneered by Irish folk icons Planxty, incorporating instrumental moments within the songs. This touches on the essence of our album, Liam's acoustic guitar and folk singing infused with Eoin's traditional playing of banjo, whistle and mandolin.

The tracks on the album. are sprinkled with Celtic folk imagery of hillside and dale, ravens and magpies, Diarmuid agus Gráinne, silver and gold and the scent of woodbine to tint your dreams. From the allegorical opener of ‘Dead Man's Trail’ to the lighthearted green bluegrass of ‘Joanne’ right through to the gentle and poetic closing anthem 'Postcards From Home', the songs are drawn from the spirit of the Irish landscape and our own connection to it.”
