Hiya Simon,

Good to see you back on the site again mate! - I've missed you.

Firstly, please allow me to thank you for joining the Carolan group. Your membership is very much appreciated especially as your timing was spot on - thanks to you, we've just become the Tradconnect group with the 7th highest membership!!!

Seriously, I hope you enjoy the group and find the inspiration in its archives to learn a few more of Carolan's tunes. In putting the group together I've discovered dozens of absolute gems! As a member you are most welcome to join the discussions, add new discussions, nominate a "tune of the week" etc etc. I am also eager for suggestions on how the group could be better organised - mainly because I'm flying the whole thing by the seat of my trousers at the moment!

I must also thank you for your kind words regarding my attempt at St Annes Reel. I do love that tune, its so undeniably jolly.

Happy New Year Simon!

I failed to thank you for the encouraging remarks.  I guess I'm coming along with my fiddle playing at a good pace; but I do get discouraged because of impatience.  Thanks for the kind words.

Hi Simon,

Your page had caught my eye quickly, because of your surname: Carson.  It's also one of my distant family surnames, and my family legend is I'm a distant cousin to Kit Carson, the legendary American frontiersman!  He was quite famous for his affinity with the native Americans.  Maybe we are distant cousins too?! With the history of my family's propagation throughout America, it could be likely!

I'm going to keep my on your mandolin playing; I think you have a style that's very pleasing to the ear!!!

An apology is actually in order, because I thought I'd done it before. Sometimes the technology of the whistle is beyond me, let alone this internet thingy !

I look forward to more uploads from you and more live chat when your free - but beware, it eats into your practice time!

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your kind comments. I've added a few more onto UTube this afternoon but the sound quality has taken a bit of a nosedive!

Just search for ormepipes on Utube if your a glutton for punishment.
