Traditional Irish Music
The Wild Geese has not received any gifts yet
The Wild Geese is a leading Irish cultural social network, whose 1,000+ members are devoted to exploring, fostering, preserving and celebrating Irish history and heritage, in the words of William Butler Yeats, 'wherever green is worn.'
Among the most vibrant of Ireland's many gifts to the world is that of its traditional music. Our members regularly share insights into Irish traditional music, as we believe trad music remains among the most vibrant and accessible means of exploring and understanding the Irish experience worldwide. With that, we applaud those who pursue this venerable art form, among the most poignant and joyous interpretations of Irish heritage.
We've interviewed Derek Warfield, Larry Kirwan, Marie Reilly, and numerous other musicians in our quest to understand the joy, as well as poignancy, of our shared Irish history.
The Wild Geese was established in the fall of 1997, as on online magazine, to share "The Epic History and Heritage of the Irish" with the tens of millions of individuals of Irish ancestry found worldwide. Dozens of individuals, from around the Irish Diaspora, of varied viewpoints and even religions, have contributed, and continue to contribute, to the reach and depth of its content.
We hope you join us.
