Traditional Irish Music
I'm learning a new tune a day. Today I learned a reel that was suggested to me by a member of the online community http://tradconnect.com. He also sent me the track by which to learn it, which was piper Ronan Browne with Peter O'Laughlin on the album "The Southwest Wind," which is a beautiful album of unaccompanied Clare tunes. Beautiful stuff. I tried to imitate the drone from the uilleann pipe by tuning my fiddle's lowest string down to a D, so the strings are tuned DDAE.

Ok, cool that you too like that set!
I live in Sweden, yes, but for some reason our native folk/trad music doesn't really appeal to me?! Went to a concert last saturday with the band 'Jidder' though (I know, and have played ITM with Markus and Maria) and it was quite nice!
You're in Sweden right? Do you play any traditional Swedish music as well? I played at a concert last year where I opened up for the Swedish group Väsen. That music is STUNNING. I don't know what the chances are of me visiting Sweden any time soon, but if we're ever in the same place, I'm counting on playing some tunes!
Re: An Phis Fhliuch/Garret Barry's...I love both of those tunes. I recorded them both on a trad album I did last year with @Colin Botts (who's here on tradconnect as well) but on separate tracks.
Here's another gem (IMO) These two tunes go together like toast and butter : )
