I'm learning a new tune a day. Today I learned one with my sister, Liz Davis Maxfield. She and I learned a slide called Teahan's Favorite based on the playing Kevin Burke and Cal Scott.

Liz studied cello at Berklee College of Music and then went on to earn a Masters of Traditional Irish Music at the University of Limerick. She is the founder of Folk Arts Quartet and New Time Ensemble. Order recordings, sheet music and follow her performances at www.lizdavismaxfield.com.

She plays standing up quite a bit, yep.  I invited her to join tradconnect, hopefully she does.  She's an excellent player.  You should dust off your cello!  ;)

Awe Katier, so it's a musical family! Are there any more of you? I wondered whether Liz was postioning her cello (obviously not sitting)? P.S. I too have a cello, but it is in a state of disrepair from my childhood :)! Love the cello!
