I couldn't find an mp3 album anywhere so I waited old-fashioned-style for it in the mail. It came yesterday! The album is "The South West Wind" by Ronan Browne and Peter O'Loughlin. So today I learned a jig from that album called the Drunken Gauger. (I dearly hope I pronounced it right \ˈgā-jər\, as in "one who gauges.") Ronan Browne is a piper from Dublin, and Peter O'Loughlin is a Clare fiddler. The tunes on the album have a lovely relaxed tempo, which is typical of the music from County Clare. (They all just go by Paddy Fahy's) SO. I'm not sure where this jig picked up its other name. In any case it's a cool tune. The way I'm playing it imitates the 6/8 3/4 changes that Folk Ragoût does in their recording.

For more tunes everyday, go to http://newtuneaday.blogspot.com

To order Killarny tracks, go to http://killarney.bandcamp.com Champaign Jig by Liz Carroll NTAD tag:tradconnect.com,2011-09-12:6391199:Video:51649 2011-09-12T06:00:25.974Z Katie Davis Henderson https://tradconnect.com/profile/KatieDavisHenderson

I'm learning a new tune everyday.
